NFL Legend Says He's Still Getting Married Despite Split From Reality Star

NFL legend Chad 'Ochocinco' Johnson is refusing to call off his February 2024 wedding to reality star Sharelle Rosado despite their recent split.

“Hey, s**t looking grim… I know one thing, I’m getting married come February, you hear me,” Johnson told Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe during the latest episode of their Nightcap podcast this week. “I’m getting married in February. I don’t know who the f**k it’s going to be, but when that God damn day come, I’m walking down the aisle with somebody.… Bro, I’m 46 years old, man, I ain’t got any time to be playing. What are you trying to do? Whoever it’s going to be, I’m walking down that mother f**king aisle in February."

“Well I ain't going. If it ain’t my niece, I ain’t going,” Sharpe interjected, referring to Rosado.

“You know what, if you don’t show up that’s fine. .. s**t, boy. I hate for us to fall out now,” Johnson responded.

“I’ll tell you what, when the minister says, ‘Does anybody object, speak now or forever hold your peace’ — ‘I object, I said it, I object! This ain’t right!’ “I’ve known Relle for two years. She’s a good woman, Ocho!" Sharpe joked.

Rosado, 37, announced that she and Johnson called off their nearly two-year engagement in a post shared on her X account last month.

Johnson shared a gif of 'Arrested Development' character 'George Michael Bluth' walking with his head down in response to Rosado's post, as well as a stick figure with its arms out under the words, "I love you this much," which he shared with Rosado's initials.

Johnson shared a video on his Instagram account of himself and Rosado working out in a gym on October 4, however, it's unclear when exactly they decided to break up.

Rosado also reposted a photo of Johnson promoting his Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? appearance on October 16. The former couple went public in November 2020, announced their engagement in January 2023 and welcomed their daughter, Serenity, in January 2022.

“Just delivered Serenity ‘Hurricane’ Paula Johnson,” Johnson wrote on Instagram at the time, announcing the birth of his eighth child.

Johnson spent the first 10 of his 11 NFL seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals before playing his final season with the New England Patriots in 2010. The former Oregon State standout was one of the league's best wide receivers during the 2000s, which included leading the NFL in receiving yards during the 2006 season, as well as being selected as a First-team All-Pro three consecutive times (2004-2006), a Second-team All-Pro in 2003, a six-time Pro Bowler (2003-07, 2009) and a member of the Bengals' Ring of Honor, 40th Anniversary Team and 50th Anniversary Team.
