50 Cent is clarifying his thoughts about President Donald Trump considering a pardon for Sean "Diddy" Combs.
On Sunday, June 1, the rapper-filmmaker took to Instagram and posted a screenshot of a Daily Beast article that reported his original comments about the situation. Over the weekend, Fif saw a viral clip of President Trump's comments from the Oval Office after a Fox News reporter asked him if he's considering a pardon for Combs. Trump said he hadn't been paying attention to Combs' sex trafficking trial, but acknowledged that Combs "really liked me a lot."
"He said some really bad things about Trump, it’s not ok," 50 Cent wrote in his caption. "Im gonna reach out so he knows how I feel about this guy."
"Donald doesn’t take well to disrespect, and doesn’t forget who chooses to go against him," he wrote in a separate post. "While working tirelessly to make America great again there is no room for distraction. He would consider pardoning anyone who was being mistreated not Puffy Daddy."
50 Cent clearly wants President Trump to tread carefully if he's really considering a pardon for Combs. The Bad Boy Records founder is currently on trial for five counts, including transportation to engage in prostitution, racketeering, and sex trafficking. Several people have testified about Combs' alleged violent outbursts toward his ex-girlfriend Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura as well as other instances of alleged sexual assault, arson and more. He could face life in prison if he's convicted.
Since this is a federal case, it's more than likely that President Trump's pardon wouldn't be able to help Combs much. However, it seems like Fif doesn't want the president to allow Combs to escape accountability if he's convicted. He hopped on Instagram again on Sunday to double down on his intention to talk to POTUS about the potential pardon after some outlet misconstrued his previous statements.
“I didn’t say I would nuke anything,” 50 wrote. “I simply said I will make sure Trump is aware.”
