Mystikal has reportedly accepted a plea deal in his 2022 rape case before it went to trial.

According to a report The Guardian published on Tuesday, March 17, the Louisiana native appeared in an Ascension Parish and pleaded guilty to third-degree rape. Mystikal, born Michael Tyler, entered a new plea as part of an agreement that amended his rape charge and dropped the other offenses. The No Limit rapper was originally indicted in 2022 on first-degree rape, simple robbery, domestic abuse battery, and false imprisonment. He was accused of beating and sexually assaulting a woman after holding her captive inside his home in Prairieville.

According to police, the unidentified woman alleged that Tyler pulled her braids out, punched and choked her after he accused her of stealing $100 from him. He also took her keys and wallet to prevent her from leaving his home. The woman claimed the "Danger" rapper attacked her during an apparent mood swing. In an effort to calm him down, she searched for the missing cash and later found a “crystalline substance” in one of his drawers.

After feeling apologetic, Tyler had asked her to pray with him and later asked to "feel" her. After she denied his advances, the rapper allegedly pushed her onto a bed and raped her. Tyler eventually let the woman go after he forced her to replace the missing $100. When she gave him her phone to send the money via CashApp, the rapper added an extra $50 and sent it to himself. She immediately fled to a nearby hospital, where they conducted a rape kit.

Tyler was arrested in 2022 and has been locked up ever since. He was set to go to trial on March 30. If convicted of his original charges, you would've faced a mandatory life sentence. Following his plea deal, he will now face up to 20 years in prison. His sentencing hearing will take place in June.
