Two Shootings & A Robbery In Killeen In 24 Hours

-There was a shooting in Killeen that sent a 19 year old to the hospital early this morning. 

The incident happened at the 2800 block of Leroy Circle at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday. Police responded after gunfire reports were called in.

The young teen is in stable condition at Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.

Ofelia Miramontez, Killeen Police Spokeswoman released a statement  to the media saying, "Witnesses told officers that the victim was in a verbal altercation with another male and at some point the suspect discharged a firearm at the victim."

The suspect fled northbound and is still at large. 

-Police are actively searching for a suspect who is said to have robbed  Mickey's convenience store at knife-point early this morning.

This occurred at 3801 E. Stan Schlueter Loop at the convince store around 12:40 a.m.

The store employee described a black man wearing a mask and a hooded sweatshirt as the suspect. He also told police that he entered the building, demanded money and was holding a large kitchen style knife.

The robber left on foot toward and was headed in the direction of Chantz drive. he did make off with money, but the amount is unknown. No injuries were reported.


There was a shooting Tuesday afternoon near a Killeen high school. An 80 year old man died in the dispute.

The victim was identified by police as John Wesley Seth, Jr.

An autopsy has been ordered.

The shooting was reported Tuesday afternoon at the 600 Bream Circle. This is near the Ellison High School.

This was the result of a verbal altercation turned physical. It has been reported that the victim was assaulted with a cane and then a firearm was discharged.

The suspect was arrested at the scene.

No name has been released.
