COPPERAS COVE (Updated 2/15 @ 11:30am) -The City of Copperas Cove announced Sunday that they will open a warming center to offer temporary relief for citizens who may be in need due to the extreme inclement weather and prolonged freezing conditions.

The warming center will be located at Copperas Cove Public Library, 501 S. Main Street.

The facility will open Sunday, February 14th, beginning at 6pm and remain open until the need is no longer necessary. The warming center will be open as a temporary shelter from the severe weather.

The city is asking citizens who plan to use the warming station to consider bring the following:

Change of Clothing, Bedding, Toiletries, Food/Drink, Medications, Entertainment Items, such as Books, Games, etc., any other necessities

GATESVILLE (Updated 2/15 @ 10:12pm) -Gatesville has a temporary shelter for those without power or water. Report to the County Annex at 8th & Main. Bring your own blankets, pillows, etc. There is a generator there to assure power.

KILLEEN (Updated 2/15 @ 11:30am)-The City of Killeen released a notification Sunday saying, the warming station has relocated to Skyline Baptist Church located at 906 Trimmier Road.

The city adds, those using the previous warming center have been relocated and future persons in need should go directly to the Skyline Baptist Church.

LORENA: The warming shelter is going to be at the First Baptist Church in Lorena.

We understand that everyone wants to be at the shelter but we are extremely limited on space, and we are trying to respect COVID protocol. All we have are chairs and a semi-warm building. Please bring snacks and blankets if you bring someone in. Please watch over our community tonight if you are able.

MARLIN (Updated 2/15 @ 12:33pm)-The Junior High School gym is currently without power and water. The Marlin Men’s Civic Center should be available as a warming station after noon Monday.

Mayor John Keefer has offered his gym downtown as a warming location as well. Please take heed and make arrangements to get to a warm location.

ROBINSON - The two Emergency Warming Centers in Robinson will continue to operate.

MEADOWBROOK BAPTIST CHURCH: 1207 N Old Robinson Rd - Open Now- Food, water, and blankets will NOT be provided - Masks MUST be worn - No pets allowed

ROBINSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: 151 Peplow Drive - Open from 7 p.m. February 16th - Food, water, and blankets will NOT be provided - Masks MUST be worn - No pets allowed

These are temporary locations to get warm if you are without power in your home. Please use extreme caution when driving to these locations as the roads are extremely dangerous.

TEMPLE, TX (February16, 2021) –Several local facilities areopenas warming shelters for residents without power.

If you are in a life-threatening situation, call 911. If you need other assistance or information regarding shelters, call 211. Do not call the Temple Police Department for non-police related incidents.

Residents are strongly encouraged to contact neighbors, the elderly and those with medical needs to ensure they are safe and have received these messages. If you can safely provide assistance for your neighbors, please do so.

The following facilities are available as warming shelters:

First United Methodist Church, 102 N. Second St., will be opening as a warming shelter at 5:30 p.m.
St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1018 S 7th St.
- Pets are accepted, must be securedin a kennelor on leash.
St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 2807 Oakdale Dr.
Immanuel Baptist Church, 1401 W. Central Ave. – Opens at 2 p.m.
- Pets are accepted, must be secured inakennel or on leash.
Salvation Army, 419 W. Ave. G

Bring extra clothing, food and water, bedding and medication. Pets will only be accepted at noted facilities. Shelter space is limited and should be used by those with immediate need.

City of West(Updated 2/15 @ 5:00pm) -Hundreds in West have been without power since 2-3am Monday.

Mayor Tommy Muska said the City of West is opening a warming center at 6pm as about half of city is without power. St. Mary’s Church Parish Center will be the warming shelter.

Anyone in need of this shelter can make their way to the Gym and use the southwest entrance that is in the drive between the church and school.

Cots will be available and the Center will be manned by Fire, Police and EMS. The doors will be open starting at 6pm and will continue to be open as needed.

You will be required to wear a mask and practice 6 foot distancing. We ask that anyone coming to the shelter bring your own supply of food and drinks. Any snacks or drinks that may be available will be limited.

You may want to bring your own source of entertainment such as games or books. There will be some available there.

WACO (Updated 2/15 @ 7:30pm)- As temperatures continue to drop, the City is opening warming stations. Currently open are: the Waco-Multipurpose Center (1020 Elm Ave), the South Waco Community Center (2815 Speight) and Highland Baptist Church (3014 Maple Avenue) in Waco to provide temporary shelter for residents experiencing power outages who need to get warm and out of the cold (or charge their phones).

Also in Waco open as of Tuesday afternoon, Dewey Comm Center (925 N. 9th St), South Waco Comm Center (2815 Speight) & Highland Baptist Church (3014 Maple Ave). Overnight stays welcome. COVID safety in place.

People may stay overnight if needed (cots on the way), COVID-19 restrictions will be in place (masks required), power is currently available, but there is a possibility of power outage at any point.
