It's been two years since fans first woke up to a world without TakeOff.

On November 1, 2022, Kirsnick Khari Ball aka TakeOff was fatally shot after a shooting unfolded outside of 810 Billiards & Bowling in Downtown Houston. The Last Rocket rapper was standing near his uncle Quavo when shots were fired following a verbal altercation among the group of people both Atlanta rappers were with during a private event at the venue. TakeOff passed away at the scene while the shooter fled. He was only 28.

“Can’t forget it won’t Forget It NEVER Forget it 🚀♾️ I Remember!," Quavo wrote in his tribute post on Instagram.

TakeOff was laid to rest during a massive homegoing service at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta. His entire family including both Quavo and Offset were in attendance as artists like Justin Bieber, Yolanda Adams, Byron Cage, Chloe Bailey, and the New Mercies Choir delivered touching performances in the late rapper's honor. Offset also took to Instagram to pay homage to Take a year after his death.

“The times we spent is priceless what we built in this game they never wanted to give us our flowers we influenced the world," Offset wrote. "I Love you Take you still here with us I just know you are!!!! Migo 4Life!!!!!!”

The alleged shooter, Patrick Clark, was arrested and charged with the murder a month after the deadly shooting. He was formally indicted in May and has been on house arrest ever since. Clark pleaded not guilty to the crime and is expected to claim self-defense at his upcoming trial.

Rest in peace, TakeOff.
