Police say Netflix users are receiving a scam e-mail (allegedly from Netflix), requiring users to update their login information. When a user clicks the link, a second screen pops up, asking for personal information such as:
- Name on credit card
- Card number
- Card expiration date
- Card security code
- Social Security Number
Once the information is updated, it brings users to the Netflix homepage. Police say the email is so well thought out that e-mail accounts have a difficult time recognizing the scam as spam.
TL; DR: don't update personal information via email. Do it on a verified website.
