Chris Brown is refusing to accept Karrueche Tran's domestic violence restraining order, New York Daily News is reporting.
"The 'Run It' singer won’t allow his law firm to accept service of the paperwork, his lawyer told Tran’s attorneys outside a courtroom in Santa Monica, Calif.," the publication claims. Due to this, the former couple's hearing has been delayed until Wednesday (April 19).
Karrueche's attorney even admitted that they've attempted to serve Chris these legal papers. But, they've been unable to reach him. So, now they're trying harder than ever to "track Brown down."
“Generally, high profile people accept service through their attorneys,” Kae’s attorney Michelle Trigger told the outlet. “I would not use the word stonewalled. Honestly, service issues are not unusual.” The model/actress' other lawyer Patrick Blood added, “Miss Tran is truly looking to get this matter handled in the most expeditious way possible."
Last month, the model/actress filed the restraining order against her ex-boyfriend. She claimed that the singer pushed her down a flight of steps and punches her on a couple of different occasions. "Around the second week of February, he told a few people that he was going to kill me," her legal docs read. "He said if no one else can have me, then he's gonna 'take me out.'"
