Uh oh, things just went left! Earlier today (Nov. 7), reports surfaced that Jill Scott filed for divorce from her husband of 15 months, 49-year-old Mike Dobson.
The singer/songwriter married Dobson back in June 2016. Big Daddy Kane even did a surprise performance at their wedding reception. The former couple looked very happy. Unfortunately, things soon turned sour between the two. Scott's divorce petition cited “irreconcilable differences” and “inappropriate marital conduct that such further cohabitation would be unsafe and improper.”
Now, her estranged husband is speaking out about the divorce filing, which Dobson said that he was "blindsided" by. And he didn't hold back with the palm trees...
“She’s an evil woman,” he told Bossip. “I’m telling you. It’s like what Jill Scott wants, Jill Scott gets. People are in her ear, and if someone comes in to challenge the dumb s**t, they made me be the bad guy and that got me outta there.”
Dobson continued: “She’s got issues. There’s no men in that family, there’s only women. And when a man comes in, it’s like a challenge.”
But, if you thought Dobson ended there, you might want to guess again. He went on: “She’s made other men look bad, but I’m not the one. I said (to her) ‘you’ve met your match.' She likes to have men that she can control. You’re not gonna control me. What’s right is right, and what’s wrong is wrong.”
Then, Dobson added that since he's from New York, he's not to be messed with. “She likes to emasculate men – that’s her problem,” he said. “I told her, she’s from Philly, but I’m from New York, and if you want to try to disgrace me, try to slander me, I can fight dirty.”
