Christopher Columbus High School in Miami recently had their Prom, and made national headlines afterwards. The prom was jungle-themed, and the principal thought bringing in a tiger, fox, and other wild animals would be ok. He quickly realized that it was not. He has since apologized, and issued a statement:
“Upon reflection, we regret the decision to have live animals at our prom. This decision in no way reflects the Marist values, teachings of the Catholic Church and/or the accomplishments of our young and that of our distinguished alumni. We remain proud of the work we do in our community by raising awareness for pediatric cancer, autism and our homeless veterans, to name a few.”
Since the incident, The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has since launched an investigation to determine if any rules/regulations were broken.
