College Student is Sentenced to 1 Year in Jail for Making False Rape Claims

Back in 2016, Nicki Yovino, a student at Connecticut's Sacred Heart University, claimed that she was raped by 2 football players that also went to the school. Although the 2 football players were never charged with anything, their reputations were completely ruined, so much so that they needed to withdraw from from school. These 2 young men went through all of that for absolutely nothing. It turns out that Nicki had lied about the entire thing. She eventually came clean, and admitted that she lied about the rape because she didn't want to ruin her chances with a potential boyfriend.

Thankfully, the legal system saw what she did as a criminal act, and she was charged and sentenced to 1 year in jail.

Unfortunately for the 2 young men that she cried wolf on, their lives are forever changed. She can't fix the damage that she has done. This is why you have to be so careful with the choices you make in your personal life...who to allow in your private space...because something like this could be the outcome. So sad...
