Amazing animals … A new study by researchers at the University of Sussex and the University of Portsmouth found that horses remember faces they’ve seen before. And according to researchers, they believe horses do this as a way to tell if the person poses a threat to them.
“What we’ve found is that horses can not only read human facial expressions but they can also remember a person’s previous emotional state when they meet them later that day – and, crucially, that they adapt their behavior accordingly,” said University of Sussex professor Karen McComb . “Essentially horses have a memory for emotion.”
