- The union is calling it "historic victory."
- Teachers weren't only striking for raises, but were seeking and received reduced class-sizes, limits on testing and more support staff, including nurses, counselors and librarians.
- Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti served as a mediator between the union and the district.
On Wednesday morning, teachers are expected to return to their classrooms for the first day since they walked out on January 14th.
At a news conference Tuesday night, United Teachers of Los Angeles President Alex Caputo-Pearl said, "A vast super-majority are voting yes for the agreement we made. Those are preliminary results but they're so overwhelming that we know what the results are going to be." (Los Angeles Times)
