GRAMMYS: Beyoncé Makes History

The Renaissance was in full effect, with Mrs. Carter picking up four Grammys off the strength of her latest album -- Best Dance/Electronic Recording, Best Dance/Electronic Album, Best Traditional R&B Performance and Best R&B Song. Even Lizzo used some of her time on stage accepting the Record of the Year Grammy to show love to Queen Bey. But when it came to the biggest categories of the evening, she was largely shut out -- leading some fans to declare that she was robbed. 

Kendrick Lamar was the second biggest winner of the night, taking home three Grammys.

One of the other biggest moments of the evening included the Hip-Hop 50 tribute, curated by Questlove. The medley performance included a retrospective of 50 years of hip-hop, featuring Grandmaster Flash, Run-DMC, LL Cool J, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Salt-N-Pepa, Rakim, Public Enemy, De La Soul, Ice T, Queen Latifah, Method Man, Big Boi, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott, Nelly, Too $hort, The Lox, GloRilla and Lil Uzi Vert.

Other highlights included: 

• The closing performance featured DJ Khaled's "God Did" with Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, John Legend and Jay-Z.
• The evening’s performers included: Bad Bunny, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Quavo and Mary J. Blige.
• Quavo performed “Without You” with Maverick City Music as part of the In Memoriam segment.
• Mary J. Blige performed “Good Morning Gorgeous”
• Dr. Dre was presented with the new Global Impact Award, which will be named after him going forward. 
• Viola Davis became the 18th ever EGOT (that's Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony) winner, as she collected a trophy for Best Audio Book, Narration & Storytelling.
